Company Profile: Railtech UK LTD

Railtech UK Ltd is part of the French group Delachaux which is more than 100 years old!

Directed by the CEO Jean-Pierre Colliaut, the sales of the Delachaux Group have grown rapidly to reach around 700 MEuro in 2007.

In July 2003 Railtech UK moved from its original Manchester base to a new purpose- built premises at Kings Norton, Birmingham, a central location close to motorways, a rail station Birmingham international airport.

Railtech UK brought the lastest technology in aluminothermic welding to the UK:

• The 3 piece PLA mould invented by Railtech International, had been introduced to Britain. The moulds, fitted with refractory felt on the rail-contact areas, made weld-collar edges easier to clean and provided a "self-sealing" function for the use of pre-mixed luting paste, which reduced the risk of porosity due to excess moisture.
• Late in 2003, Railtech UK introduced the CJ2 "one shot crucible" with the Eco-filter for both standard and wide gap welds. The Eco-filter is small and inexpensive and protects the welder"s respiration effectively, especially during work in tunnels and other confined spaces. • In 2005, Railtech UK introduced the hybrid moulds technology. Hybrid moulds cover a wider range of wear and differential than straight moulds and allow for lower stock levels to cover welding requirements. If you want to know more about Hybrid Moulds, click here.
