Hybrid Mould Technology

Over the last few years, Railtech International designed a new type of mould: The Hybrid mould. This mould is partly felted and had been designed to facilitate the maintenance work. With the Hybrid technology, setting up a mould on worn rails becomes straightforward and easy.

The Principle

There are two types of Hybrid moulds: the Hybrid B and the Hybrid C. Both moulds are partly felted. The felt can be compressed and will accept a 3 mm differential between the two rails without modification. Both moulds can cover from 0 to 15 mm wear. The modification to adapt to the wear of the rail is a simple filing operation. It is in fact the only needed modification of the mould to fit on the rails. No further modifications will be necessary. The Hybrid C can be used for new rail up to a 3 mm differential.
