The Hybrid C can accommodate from 0 mm up to 15 mm wear and 3 mm differential between the two rails.

Adjusting the wear

You can adjust the wear on the moulds by filing the top the mould. The mould is built with 3 steps of 5 mm to help the welder visually. If you do not file any step, it means the wear on the rails is 15 mm If you file one step, it means the wear on the rails is 10 mm If you file two steps, it means the wear on the rails is 5 mm If you file the three steps, it means there is no wear on the rails. Felt will be inserted in the luting strip after the mould is positioned on the rail.

Adjusting the differencial

The felted part of the mould accepts by compression a differential of 3 mm between the two rails. There is no need to make any adjustment as this differential is already built up in the mould thanks to the felt (up to 3 mm)

If the differential is more than 3 mm, then we use a Hybrid B mould
How do I know which mould I need and which modifications to do?
